What the hell is TwoHeadedCat?

Two Headed Cat is a collective, a mind meld if you will, of various and sundry characters gathered together for one assumed purpose, to write what is true. By true, I don't mean factual always. Truth has never been limited to the facts really, it also lives in your emotions and that fact has to be recognized and paid homage to. We want this place to be worked on and enjoyed by anyone who seeks out that emotional truth, that harsh honesty, and build a place you can come to, to find others who feel the same. Our writers will not always stick on a subject, we don't impose that kind of control over them nor would we want to, but they will always write what is true for them. Stories of their past, of their beliefs or of the joy and pain inherent in living in the world today. Of course, we will also tell you what we think, about movies or books or really anything we see or do and we want to hear the same from you. It won't all be serious, but it won't all be funny either. The universe is a duality of pleasure and pain coexisting in constant flux. Everyone living in it has to approach it in their own way, with their own preconceived notions of how the world works, and if they're rational in the least they will be willing to have those notions pushed against and sometimes even proven wrong. Everyone who contributes here has a personal reason for doing so, each of them as valid as any other. The only rule here is, stay true.

But why man, why?

Doesn't everyone know that burning need to put forth what they know for themselves to be right, to be true? Everyone of you reading this must have a reason to. Maybe you have a friend who works here, maybe you hate it here and only read it because of that friend or family member even. Maybe you just want to tune in to something that isn't what they normally feed you, when they let you out of your cage for lunch. I like to think though, that everyone who reads this place is here to feed their head, like the dormouse said. Well I say, eat up brothers and sisters. Come to our altar and realize it's yours. Enter the doors to our personal headspace and make yourself at home within, for without is something we can only control with virtue patience and time. Rest a while, gather your wits and go forth stronger, knowing that you aren't alone. The truth will out. Honesty will out. The bastards will not win if you refuse to let them, if you won't buy what is sold to you and eat what you are told is best. Find your own choices and set yourself free.

Yep, we are secretly trying to change the world here, even if some of us don't realize it as such. You put forth words and ideas and share them and escalate their radius. Soon those thoughts take shapes you didn't know. One phrase forgotten while scribing a column can touch someone deeply, and we might never know. Take what you need from this place and tell someone else, spread the virus. Like it says above ... Mediocrity is the enemy. Honesty, a large gun. That's true you know. Shoot down the sameness you feel pressured by. Be an individual even if it means that your choices are the same as everyone else's, just make those choices knowingly and prepared. Reason out your choices and make them according to who you are inside.
